GRAPPLELOOP TRAINING GUIDES

Track one BJJ technique across training sessions

To track a BJJ technique across sessions, record each attempt with its outcome, relevant feedback, and the adjustment you want to try next. Review those entries together before deciding whether to keep the same focus.

Give one technique a history

GrappleLoop organizes this as a focus cycle. Choose one move or concept, write a current cue, and select an interval of attempted sessions before reviewing the cycle.

Separate attempts from attendance

A class where you did not attempt your focus is still part of your training history. It is different from a class where you tried and got stuck.

Hit
Your focus worked.
Partial success
Part of it worked.
Stuck
You tried but could not make it work.
Not attempted
You did not try the focus that session.

Hit, Partial success, and Stuck advance your attempted-session milestone. Not attempted does not. These are your own reports about training, not an independent measure of skill.

Follow how your cue changes

An illustrative knee-cut cycle might start with “Find the underhook,” then become “Settle before sliding” after you notice that you rush the movement.

The useful detail is the relationship between your attempt and the next cue. Optional feedback can preserve context, such as where you got stuck or what your coach asked you to change.

A later Hit records a successful attempt. It does not establish that you have mastered the technique across partners and situations.

Review and decide what comes next

At the review milestone, look through your outcome trail and cues. Keep the focus if you want another practice interval, or mark it Done to archive the cycle and choose something else. You can also finish a focus before its milestone.

If you return to a completed focus through Practice again, GrappleLoop starts a separate linked cycle. Compare the recorded attempts, Hits, and cues across those cycles.
